Car Scratch Repair
Paint Correction
We offer car scratch repair services, also commonly known in the detailing world as paint correction. The process includes physically cutting down clear coat to remove scratches and blemishes from paint. This can be achieved in many different ways, varying in aggressiveness. The most aggressive means paint correction (car scratch repair) is achieved by wetsanding the vehicle. The least aggressive would be by using an orbital polisher with a polish substance to refine light scratches and remove light marring. Paint correction is always followed by paint protection to protect the results.
Depending on the severity of damage, we offer different levels of paint correction (car scratch repair). For deep scratches we like to use a cutting pad with Extra Heavy Cut compound that can remove deeper scratches and blemishes. This however does cause a type of haze in the paint and subsequently must always be followed by what’s called a polish. A polish is like compound but is lighter and less gritty. Polish has the function, when used with a softer polishing pad, to bring out the paint and remove haze caused by buffing with compound. Therefore, there are some cases when only a polish is required (1-step paint correction), and other cases when compound is required (2-step paint correction). This is followed by a sealant to further bring out the shine (especially in metallic paints) and protect the paint from further damage.
